Day 4 of Engagement Marketing: My Twitter Makeover

I was suppose to record a video about Spark and Hustle today. But I didn’t.

I do video and I’ll be the first to admit, video is time consuming. Whew!

The act of applying makeup alone is sometimes a drag. But I’m telling you, never do a video without makeup. Seriously!

Video can be forever, but because you won’t like how you look, you’ll lose all your video power when you remove it.

I’ve been struggling with insomnia lately, and it’s throwing off my day. I’m not a fan of medications so prescription sleeping pills are out of the question. I think I may go back to Valerian root.

How To Be More Engaging On Twitter

I’ve really been using Twitter alot lately to get customers. I’m working on a report now to show everyone how I did it. So far I’ve gotten 3 jobs from Twitter in the last 2 weeks.

I would never consider myself a Twitter pro by any stretch of the imagination.

But I am slowly becoming a Google Analytics fanatic.

I’ve been playing with several factors on my Twitter profile including the url that I list.

When I list my website url http://jalandajames.com, my bounce rate was higher than when I listed my url as http://jalandajames.com/blog/

There could be a multitude of reasons for the lower bounce rate but I have my theory. Like to hear it – here it go. (That’s my in living color throw back).

My blog gives visitors a better sense of what kinda chick I am.

What I’ve noticed is after they hang out on my blog for a little bit, they also visit my homepage and my Video Business Card page.

That’s way better than what they were doing which is landing on my homepage and then exiting quickly.

Pretty cool.

So try listing your blog url as your website in Twitter and see how it works for you.

That’s an interesting discovery regarding listing your blog url instead of your homepage page url. I have to try this. I deal with photos and think visitors seeing my images make a certain impact. But this will be a great test to do and see if it increases my visitors and bounce rate.

Hi Jaye,
I’ve been using my blog url for the past couple of years on all my directory listings, Twitter, FB etc. It has really helped my visitors rate, pageviews etc. I think you’re definitely onto something there! Good luck!
